The Prime Rib that makes everyone Wander into the Kitchen

There’s something magical about a beautifully seasoned prime rib slow‑roasting in the oven. The aroma fills the house, the crust turns perfectly golden, and before long you’ve got family peeking around the corner asking when dinner will be ready. With Sandhill Ben’s Gourmet Seasoning, this recipe is effortless, flavorful, and guaranteed to impress — whether it’s a holiday meal or a “just because” kind of night.

Ingredients

  • 8 lb. roast

  • Sandhill Ben’s Gourmet Seasoning (Original or Garlic), to taste

Instructions

    1. Generously rub Sandhill Ben’s seasoning over all sides of the roast.

    2. Refrigerate overnight to let the flavors soak in and help create that perfect crust.

    3. Preheat oven to 325°F.

    4. Place roast in a baking dish and cook according to your preferred doneness (see chart below).

    5. Let rest before slicing so all those flavorful juices stay right where they belong.

Cooking Time Guide (325°F)

  • Rare (125°F internal) About 1 hour 45 minutes – 2 hours

  • Medium‑Rare (135°F internal) About 2 hours – 2 hours 15 minutes

  • Medium (145°F internal) About 2 hours 15 minutes – 2 hours 30 minutes

  • Well‑Done (155°F+ internal) About 2 hours 45 minutes – 3 hours

Tip: Prime rib continues to rise in temperature as it rests, so pull it out about 5°F before your target.
